Louise worked for nine years at the Department of Conservation and Land Management as a graphic designer. The work included pamphlets, letterheads, newsletters, magazines, national park displays, books, cartoons, illustrations and children's books. She became senior graphic designer and senior displays officer before leaving work in 1992 to have her two children. At home amongst the teddies and colouring books she began doing freelance graphic design and desktop publishing. She has an IBM compatible computer and uses PageMaker 6.5, Word 2000, MS Publisher and a Umax scanner. She is a Voluntary Gallery Guide at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, a Voluntary Home Tutor for the Adult Migrant Education Service and a Wildlife Carer.
