| Ann Ousey Manager - Publications Ann is manager of the publications department in the Western Australian Museum. The department has three core functions - publishing scientific and popular books, with a market niche for their natural history field guides; production of print material from business cards to magazines and resource kits; and wholesaleing of museum titles in collaboration with Tower Books. The department also formats, prints and produces work for external institutions. These include the South Australian Museum's scientific journal, a magazine for the Museums Association of Australia, the Royal Society Journal and the Friends of the Museum's newsletter. The department also assists and produces books for self-publishing authors. The deparmtent has two desktop publishing units, one Macintosh and one PC, using PageMaker, CorelDRAW and Photoshop, and two small printing presses. The department uses contract editors, proofreaders, designers and illustrators. Memberships |
